Oscar 2014: American Hustle e 12 anni schiavo si dividono le candidature. La grande bellezza nominato come miglior film straniero!

Si ripete la battaglia iniziata ai Golden Globes tra il film di David o. Russell e Steve McQueen; soddisfazione per l’Italia che torna nella cinquina dopo otto anni. 

Questa mattina in quel di Los Angeles, Chris Hemsworth e il presidente dell’Academy Cheryl Boone Isaacs hanno annunciato le nomination per l’ottantaseiesima edizione dei premi Oscar, che andrà in scena il prossimo 2 marzo al Dolby Theatre di Hollywood.

A guidare il gruppo è American Hustle: il film diretto da David O. Russell ha conquistato infatti dieci nomination, tutte nelle maggiori categorie (tra cui film, montaggio, regia e sceneggiatura originale). L’altro film che punta decisamente all’Oscar più importante dell’annata (quello al miglior film) è 12 anni schiavo di Steve McQueen, che porta a casa nove nomination.

Aspettata e meritatissima, soprattutto dopo il trionfo agli European Film Awards e ai più recenti Golden Globes, la nomination a La grande bellezza di Paolo Sorrentino. Il film italiano si inserisce di prepotenza nella cinquina finale, dopo essere rientrato nelle classifiche americane dei migliori film dell’anno, segno che oltreoceano il film è stato accolto con entusiasmo. Uscito da poco più di un mese negli USA ha superato il traguardo del milione di dollari di incasso. Il nostro paese, che torna così nella cinquina finale a otto anni da La bestia nel cuore (di Cristina Comencini), dovrà ora confrontarsi con il Belgio (The Broken Circle Breakdown), la Danimarca (The Hunt), la Palestina (Omar) e la Cambogia (The Missing Picture).

Woody Allen, con la candidatura a miglior sceneggiatura originale per il film Blue Jasmine, arriva a quota 16 nomination per quanto riguarda la categoria, battendo il suo stesso record.
