Emmy 2014: trionfano Breaking Bad e Modern Family

Breaking Bad sbanca tutto nella categoria Drama tra miglior serie, attori e sceneggiatura; Modern Family è la miglior serie Comedy

E’ andata in onda dal Nokia Theatre di Los Angeles la 66ª edizione degli Emmy Awards, il maggior riconoscimento per quanto concerne i prodotti televisivi negli States. I premi sono stati assegnati dall’Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. La HBO, canale via cavo, era la rete con il maggior numero di nominations, ben 99.

Come sempre le categorie principali sono le serie “Comedy” e quelle “Drama”: nella prima ha trionfato un po’ a sorpresa Modern Family, nella seconda invece la sfida agguerritissima quest’anno è stata vinta da Breaking Bad (del canale AMC)

Nei Drama è stato Bryan Cranston per Breaking Bad a svettare nella categoria Miglior attore protagonista in mezzo a nomi come Matthew McConaughey (fresco di Oscar), Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm, Jeff Daniels e Woody Harrelson. La controparte femminile, Anna Gunn, ha ottenuto il premio come non protagonista. La miglior attrice “drammatica” si è rivelata Julianna Margulies, mentre il miglior attore non protagonista è ancora per Breaking Bad grazie alla prova di Aaron Paul. True Detective ha conquistato il premio per la regia (andato a Cary Fukunaga). 

Nella categoria Comedy hanno trionfato Jim Parsons e Julia Louis-Dreyfus come protagonisti, rispettivamente di The Big Bang Theory e Veep mentre come non protagonisti Ty Burrell (per Modern Family) e Allison Janney (per Mom). Nelle miniserie sorprende il successo di Sherlock, serie britannica prodotta dalla BBC, che ha visto prevalere sia i suoi attori principali, Benedict Cumberbatch e Martin Freeman, sia per la sceneggiatura. Apprezzato anche il film per la TV “The Normal Heart”, prodotto ancora da HBO, mentre American Horror Story regala la statuetta alle sue due attrici: Jessica Lange e Kathy Bates. Fargo oltre al premio come miglior miniserie porta a casa quello per la miglior regia.
